  E) Critically evaluate marketing strategies and performance: Event Marketing and Public Speaking : Pros : This event produced positive results, people signed up for email updates, they were interested i n learning about the event and several of those attending the ULOUK event now follow The Next Generation of Liberia social media accounts.  Cons: The main event at ULOUK ran over time, resulting in my colleague having less than half of the intended time to introduce the project. Due to the delays I did not video record her speech, which I believe would have been valuable to post on the new social media platforms.  Video Marketing: I created an original video content by scheduling an appointment with the secretary to the Ambassador and asked her to record an introduction to the program. I also asked another member of staff to talk about Liberian food and to share some of her favourite recipes.  Cons: I only managed to...

4. Social Media Marketing: Social Media Marketing is a very effective way to promote non-profit organisations, not only it is free, it is one of the easiest ways to engage with young people, who are the target audience for The Next Generation of Liberia project. Instagram is used to post photo and video content targeted towards the  younger audience and Facebook targeted towards the parents and other relatives. The content shared overlaps across both platforms, I aimed to post at similar times each day, more less. The content constitutes of news, repurposed content, reaction piece from a newspaper, video posts and facts using the key messaging detailed in my marketing plan. Instagram page was already created in 2020 but only featured 4 posts in that time and had around 60 followers. Since the Instagram's re-branding and regular posting, the number of followers increased to 94.  I created a brand new Facebook social media page and adopted techniques to boost engagement and bra...

BLOG POST 2: C) Creating key messages, logos, brand The key messages for the website and social media platforms: The key messages have already been created by others working at the embassy. I believe they clearly communicate the purpose of the project and will all be included on The Next Generation website. 1. "The purpose of The Next Generation Project' is to encourage young people in the UK to discover and connect with Liberia's extensive history and culture." 2. "Develop long lasting connections and friendships". 3. "We believe this is the foundation to create a better future for Liberia. We hope this initiative provides an opportunity to increase valuable connections and a sense of belongings amongst the youth in the UK". 4. "We aim to empower The Next Generation and challenge existing narratives". Logo Creation: Branding activities include the creation of names, streamlines, logos. Danesi, (2006) suggests design bra...

BLOG POST 1: Introduction : In January 2020, The assistant Secretary to The Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of Liberia to the UK, Ms. Wreh initiated a community project called The Next Generation of Liberia. It was created in hope of helping to re-connect the Liberian youth in the UK with Liberian culture, history, learn more about Liberia’s climate and biodiversity, as well as provide opportunities to form lasting friendships among participants and the Liberian community and its students. In addition, there will be opportunities to join organised visits to Liberia for the youth to share their knowledge and experiences with Liberians and to learn from each other. However, due to the pandemic there were delays in launching the project, I was brought on board in April 2022 as a social media intern to help launch The Next Generation of Liberia website and to be in charge of the social media campaigns’ advertising and marketing.  Research into non-profit organisations' u...
